Repair

Each job is assessed for structural integrity; missing, replaced or reproduced parts. Loose, wobbly joints, legs and support pieces are disassembled and cleaned of all former adhesive residue. The re-gluing and clamping process ensures renewed strength and durability for normal use of any given piece of furniture.

Hand Stripping

Unlike aggressive "dip and strip" techniques, we use "Chem Clean" hand stripping. Chem Clean hand stripping is a gentle process that removes old finish and paint from the surface of your wood without breaking down important adhesives. It eliminates the potential problems of raised grain and bleaching of the wood's natural color.

Color Selection

Clients are invited to the finishing studio to select color. A temporary solution is applied to a small area of the furniture which reveals the wood's "true" color. From this point the client decides the final appearance they would like their furniture to have. We offer traditional premixed colors and custom formulas to achieve your vision of the final result.

Finishing

Finish is a transparent protective coating. Each style and period of furniture dictates the type of finish to give it an authentic restored appearance. Finishes come in a range of sheens; Dead Flat, Flat, Satin, Semi Gloss and High Gloss.

Replacement Period Glass and Mirroring

Difficult to find glass include bowed, serpentine and poured panes. We also offer beveled glass, mirror re-silvering and standard replacement mirrors.

Reproduction Period Hardware

Missing handles and stems are no problem. We utilize both reproduction and salvage sources. We will do our best to find the right hardware to authenticate your restoration.
